Windows 7 Beta 1 Installed - What Does It Mean For Corporate Users and IT Departments?

If I worked in corporate IT (wait.. I do!) I’d never allow or support the Vista SP2 update. I’d wait a couple months, certify Microsoft Windows 7 and be glad I skipped a step along the way. From what I can see it’s a step worth skipping to create a step worth taking. Windows 7 will lower your Microsoft Windows support burden significantly due to it’s wide hardware compatibility right out of the box and it’s really easy and advanced self diagnostics.

Don’t get me wrong the Microsoft Windows 7 Beta 1 release does still have a lot of flaws, but I’ve been able to overcome nearly all of them to succeed with an extremely enjoyable desktop. It’s time to assign a desktop of laptop in your support department for Windows 7 testing and familiarization.

So, when you get to that screen that has a fish on it, you may or may not realize that the type of fish is known as a “Beta”. No joke, it’s a Siamese fighting fish famous for fighting any other fish to the death even if it beats itself to death against the side of the tank because it sees itself in a mirror. I cannot help wondering if Microsoft Windows Vista SP2 and Microsoft Windows 7 Beta 1 are not reflections of each other that will in a corporate computing environment end up fighting each other until death instead of fighting the market share advances of Linux and the every stylish Apple’s OSX.
